Our Jolly Phonics program has been introduced this year to our K1-3 class.
There are basically 42 sounds in the English language . The Jolly Phonics program splits them into seven groups.

We concentrate on the children learning the sounds of the letters and then bonding the letters together to make words. We do this using hand signs which represent each sound. These are backed up by the Jolly Songs allocated to each sound. The school has some small cards with all the sounds (letters) which are available to parents. I encourage all parents to get one and have on hand at home so you can practice with your children and monitor their progress. It will also assist the parents to learn English with your children. School will provide Jolly songs on School website, and parents can individual learning each sound after August 15, 2014. Any question occurred, please feel free to ask.
